My food story began when I was six years old, playing with a plastic Fisher Price cash register at
S& R Food Center, my parents' small-town grocery store. The old guys would give me a quarter once in a while, the first few cents I'd ever make in the food industry. Who knew 15 years later I'd be writing for food magazines, pulling weeds with farmers, selling food photography, and eating foie gras with chefs. What a delicious journey it's been.

After spending a summer on an organic farm surrounded by spirited farmworkers and delicious tomatoes, dabbling in food writing and photography, and chopping onions alongside professional chefs in a restaurant kitchen, I realized that food was my passion. While the act of eating is the most intimate thing humans do, the universal need for nourishment is one thing we all have in common.

I’m a freelance writer, blogger, photographer, and graphic designer based out of the Twin Cities and Seattle. My mission is simple: to create joy through food - by sharing stories, images, meals, and inspiring others to do the same.
